October 2006 - City Park Wins Scottish Award for Best Refurbished / Recycled Workplace
City Park has won the Scottish Refurbished/ Recycled Workplace award at the British Council for Office (BCO) annual award ceremony in London last night.
27,000 square metres of business park office space have been created within the Art Deco shell of the former Wills cigarette factory.
The project, for developer Elphinstone, has helped to breathe life back into a depressed area within Glasgow. City Park now offers the largest floor plates in Scotland in a system that ensures flexibility for tenants.
The judges were impressed with the scale of City Park and the way in which the office space is able to meet the varying space and servicing needs of tenants. In addition, City Park offers all of the facilities of a large business park in a City location. It has two phone exchanges, gym, restaurant, inspiring art and fibre optic provision.
More than 1,500 property professionals gathered at the event, which celebrates design, best practice and innovation in the vibrant office sector. Elphinstone's Ken Campbell, pictured left, collected the award.
BCO aims to create awareness on topics surrounding office buildings and workplaces, in a bid to create a more effective workforce.
