The letting agent for Glasgow business village City Park has set its sights on an action-packed 2008 for the landmark development.

The building picked up a prestigious Health and Safety award at the tail end of 2007 and letting agent DTZ now hopes to achieve full occupancy this year.

There is currently only part of one floor of 15,525 sq ft left available in the former Wills cigarette factory in Alexandra Parade, just east of the city centre.

City Park was opened in 2002 following a £20 million refurbishment and current tenants include computer giants Dell, Halcrow, Scottish Gas, Aggreko, children's charity NCH and Glasgow Housing Association.

Stephen McKenna of DTZ said: "City Park has proved to be extremely popular with tenants from both the public and private sector.

"The development benefits from its proximity to the centre of Glasgow, extremely good transport links and very competitive rents, which are significantly less than comparable Grade A space in the city.

"City Park has a well designed layout and last year it picked up five awards."

Facilities at City Park include a restaurant, training rooms, café, shop, occupational health services and parking for 500 cars. It has a capacity to house 3,000 employees in 300,000 sq ft of space.

City Park was recently acquired by Rock City Park Jersey Unit Trust, a fund created by Rock Capital Group, for £63.25 million from joint venture partners Elphinstone and Earthquake Property Partners who transformed the building five years ago.
